The Tony Award winning actress follows in the footsteps of previous honorees Liza Minnelli, Carol Channing, Tommy Tune, Rita Moreno, Lauren Bacall, Jason Alexander, Florence Henderson and James Earl Jones.

As Broadway’s finest are taking the stage on the East Coast during the 21st annual Tony Awards on June 11, Angelenos won’t be left with nothing to do.

The Actors Fund is toasting the Tony Awards by hosting a viewing party at Skirball Cultural Center that doubles as a gala event honoring Tony winner Betty Buckley. The evening will feature dinner, live performances, a silent auction and the West Coast’s exclusive live feed of the 2017 Tony Awards broadcast from New York.

Betty Buckley will be honored with the Julie Harris Award for Artistic Achievement, following in the footsteps of previous honorees Liza Minnelli, Carol Channing, Tommy Tune, Rita Moreno, Lauren Bacall, Jason Alexander, Florence Henderson and James Earl Jones.

Buckley, whose resume includes stage, screen and music, won a Tony Award for her performance as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats. Buckley most recently co-starred in the hit M. Night Shyamalan film Split, and was seen on stage in L.A. in Grey Gardens at the Center Theatre Group.

More information about the event can be found here. The Actors Fund’s Tony Awards viewing party — made possible by CBS, Tony Awards Productions, American Theatre Wing, Broadway League and DIRECTV — is sponsored by U.S. Bank, United Airlines, SAG-AFTRA, DIRECTV and the Nederlander Organization/Pantages Theatre.
