Betty Buckley Explores ‘Story Songs,’ Starting Tonight in NYC

Tony Award winner Betty Buckley, recently seen in the award-winning musical Grey Gardens at the CTG/Ahmanson Theatre, returns to Joe’s Pub, the intimate nightclub located within the Public Theater, September 22.

The acclaimed singing actress is offering her brand-new show, Story Songs, through September 25.

The Olivier Award nominee will share a collection of songs by Radiohead, Stephen Schwartz, Jason Robert Brown, Joe Iconis and Ben Toth, among others. Buckley is joined by her long-time musical director and arranger, jazz pianist Christian Jacob, with Tony Marino on bass, Oz Noy on guitar and Ben Perowsky on drums and percussion.

Betty Buckley offered acclaimed performances in Broadway’s Sunset Boulevard, Carrie, Song & Dance, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, 1776, Triumph of Love and Promises, Promises. She won a Tony Award for her performance as Grizabella in the Broadway production of Cats, and she starred on the London stage in Promises, Promises, Dear World and Sunset Boulevard, earning an Olivier Award nomination for her work in the latter.

Buckley recently completed shooting the new M. Night Shyamalan film Split, co-starring James McAvoy. The film will be released in January 2017.
